How I’m keeping things moving during recovery (and working on something you might love)
Hi ,
As you may know, I’m in
a period of recovery. The expected downtime is around 6 to 8 weeks, and I’ve been told I may not be up for much at all during that time.
So... I’ve been preparing!
I’ve scheduled blog posts, newsletters, (including this one!) to keep the website active — and to stay connected with the Google engine, where 80% of my visitors come from.
This way, I can rest fully, knowing that things will keep ticking over gently in the background. 💛
One thing I do hope to work on slowly during that time is something special —
a Facilitators Guide for running collaborative art projects.
I’m imagining it as a set of A4 pages — each one focused on a single stage of the process, super simple and visual. Something you could print, laminate, and pop on a ring for easy reference.
It’s still in draft form, but I hope to keep chipping away at it while I recover…
The front: a
clear, visual illustration of that stage
The back: helpful tips and gentle scripting I’ve used during 60+ real-life projects
It’s designed to help you feel supported in the moment — even if you’re not “arty” or you’re running a group for the very first time.
I used to make one-page primers like this for myself before each project (I still do for the bigger ones!) — mostly to calm that blank moment we all secretly dread, LOL. It’s a reassurance. A friendly reminder that you’ve got this.
What do you think of this idea so far?
I’d love your input — hit reply and tell me
what would help you most if you were running a project like this.
