Hi ,
Â
I wanted to share something a little more personal today — and let you know about a quiet change on my website that reflects a much bigger shift behind the scenes.
Â
You might have noticed the homepage now focuses on my global audience — educators, facilitators and families who want to create collaborative art in their own communities.
Â
If you’re here for my local community projects in and around Adelaide, they now have a new home:
👉 Local Art Projects (in Adelaide, South Australia)
Why the change?
The truth is: my ability to do in-person projects has changed a lot in the last year.
Due to Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, I’ve developed severe osteoarthritis in both hips, which has made physical work really tough. Where I used to run up to 3 murals a term (over 3–8 sessions each), I’ve dropped to just one — and only when I can manage it.
Earlier this year, I was unexpectedly hospitalised for pain — and during that stay, doctors found a tumour on my
pancreas.
The good news? It’s Stage 0, and will be surgically removed in May (Actually last week as you read this). After I recover, I’ll be back in the queue for the hip surgeries (yep, both!).
Â
It’s been a lot — but I’m incredibly grateful at my luck. And, through it all, I’m finding ways to stay connected to my small business (- keeping myself mentally busy so I don't freak out being one
of the main reasons.)
Refocusing on what I can do
In-person projects are on pause — but I’m using this quieter time to create accessible resources that you can use wherever you are, with your people.
Â
Because while my body needs rest, my creative mission is very much
alive.
Â
You see, collaborative art is my Ikigai — my reason for being. (It’s a Japanese concept that refers to what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can share.)
And that’s what I’m leaning into right now. Creativity feeds the mind and occupies the body.
