A bit of background: I have something called Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder. It’s the reason I was brilliant at gymnastics as a kid (splits, box splits, ankles behind my head - all that circus-y fun). Later I did horse riding (on Flint, a Lipizzaner, taught by
an Austrian Baroness no less!) and taekwondo in my 20s, where flexibility made my roundhouse kicks fly.
But the “pointy end” of all that bendiness is hip instability, chronic pain, and early arthritis. Having three kids only added to it — the pregnancy and breastfeeding hormones kept my joints extra loose, which
made my hips even less stable. And, well, here I am.
My right hip is bone-on-bone and getting replaced today, and my left one’s scheduled for six months’ time.
👉 So here’s your chance: if it’s the right time for you, have a browse in the shop, and if something catches your eye, grab it today - It'll give me a boost, for sure.
I’ll be back home in a couple of days (hopefully not 22 like last time 🤞🙂). I
can’t wait to be walking again - and my first big 'art' goal is to get back into the community, painting murals with kids once I can move pain-free!
Thanks for cheering me on,
Charndra
