1. Start with a surface
   This might be coloured card or a shared canvas with an underpainting layer, just something to begin without pressure.
2. Messy Playing
   People explore colour freely, adding circles, spirals, and arches, along with clusters of simple overlapping marks. It’s about getting paint moving and marks down together.
3. Exploring patterns
   This is where the Pattern Play Pages and Cards come in. They offer simple black-on-white prompts that people can copy, repeat, and adapt in their own style.
4. Bling stage
   Final patterning and highlights are added, layering doodles and detail. This becomes a space for personal expression using paint pens or Sharpie markers, again using the patterns as prompts.
